Terms & refunds.

OuterPractice is made by a working drum teacher, not a company with a legal department. These terms are written to be read. Last updated 1 July 2026.

Who you're buying from

OuterPractice is a product by Drumschool Stefan van de Brug, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands.

  • Engeringstraat 46, 2552 DP The Hague, Netherlands

What you're buying

OuterPractice is free to use for personal practice. A one-time license unlocks the paid tiers: the Practice tier (€29) and full Teacher use (€149). There is no subscription and nothing auto-renews. A license is valid for the entire v1.x series — every update we ship within v1. If a future v2 introduces new feature layers, existing license holders are offered a discounted upgrade rather than being cut off.

A license is a signed string you store in your own browser. There is no server-side account and no device limit — activation works offline. This is an honour system: the license is for you (personal tiers) or for your own teaching practice (Teacher tier). Please don't resell, publish, or share license keys.

Price, payment & VAT

Payments are handled by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar processes your payment, issues the invoice, and collects and remits any VAT due for your country automatically at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay — VAT included. After a successful payment your license key is emailed to you (via our email provider, Resend) at the address you entered at checkout.

Right of withdrawal & our money-back guarantee

As a consumer in the EU you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. Because a license key is digital content delivered immediately, that statutory right lapses once delivery has begun with your consent — which you give at checkout so we can send your key straight away.

You don't need it, though. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee that is more generous than the statutory right: email hi@outerpractice.app within 30 days of your purchase and we refund you in full, no questionnaire. Because there's no server-side enforcement, the license simply deactivates when you remove it from the app — or when you stop using it.

The app is provided as-is

OuterPractice is an observational tool: it watches posture, tension, and timing and describes what it sees. It does not teach, diagnose, treat, or give medical or health advice, and it is not a substitute for professional instruction or care. You use it at your own discretion. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the software is provided “as is” without warranties, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Because everything runs locally in your browser, the app keeps working on your device even if this website ever goes away. Your data lives with you — see the privacy page for the full account.

Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page. These terms are governed by Dutch law, and any dispute falls to the competent court in the Netherlands. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the consumer law of the country where you live.

Short version: you buy once, you own it, and if it's not for you, email Stefan within 30 days and get your money back.
