OuterPractice posture tracking with a skeleton overlay during practice
Post-session tension timeline with event markers
What it tracks

Posture, tension, and timing — second by second.

Three observation layers run in your browser at sixty frames per second. Only the numbers are kept; the camera and microphone feeds are processed live and discarded.

Posture

Shoulder line, forward-head drift, and torso angle, tracked with browser-native pose landmarks.

Facial tension

Jaw clench, brow tension, and blink rate — as numbers, never as stored video.

Timing

Onset jitter and dynamic events from ambient audio, processed live and immediately discarded.

Who it's for

Built for players and their teachers.

Sixteen instrument profiles — drums, piano, guitar, strings, winds, brass, voice — and an asynchronous lesson loop so a teacher can review home practice without being in the room.

Free to start. One-time to go deeper.

The live session and timeline are free, forever. Pay once for the tension fingerprint or the full teacher loop — no subscription, no cloud lock-in.

Questions

Questions.

Is OuterPractice really a posture app for musicians?

Yes — it tracks posture, facial tension, and timing while you play, then shows you a calm timeline of what it noticed. It runs in your browser; nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Which instruments does it work for?

Any seated or standing musician: drums, piano, guitar, strings, winds, brass, and voice — sixteen instrument profiles, with per-instrument tension weighting.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It is a web app — open it in your browser and press start. You can add it to your home screen as a PWA, but there is no app store and no download.

What does it cost?

The core practice loop is free, forever. A one-time Practice licence (€29) adds the tension fingerprint; a one-time Teacher licence (€149) unlocks the import, annotate, and send-back loop. No subscription.

Open the tool. Sit at your instrument. Press start.

The first thirty seconds are quiet. Then it just watches.
